EU defense ministers, who had an informal meeting in the Gymnich format in Brussels on Friday, agreed to increase the number of Ukrainian military personnel who would undergo training within the framework of the EUMAM Ukraine program by 15,000 by the end of the year, thus bringing the total number of trained soldiers to 75,000.
Giving Ukraine permission to use weapons provided by EU countries to hit military targets on Russian territory would not imply that the EU or its individual member states is at war with Russia.
The defense ministers of the EU member states, who are holding an informal meeting in Brussels today, will consider the possibility of increasing the number of Ukrainian servicemen to be trained within the EUMAM Ukraine mission to more than 60,000, but no agreement has been reached on training soldiers on Ukraine's soil.
Ukraine has the right to defend itself both on its territory and outside the country, while Sweden will support Ukraine for as long as it takes.
