Javelin anti-tank missile systems that have already arrived in Ukraine from the U.S. should be deployed on the contact line with Russia in order to fulfill a deterrent role and not be warehoused hundreds of kilometers from the front.

The corresponding permission should be provided by the American Administration, Michael Carpenter, the former Assistant Secretary of Defense of the United States for Ukraine, Russia and Eurasia, Senior Director of the Penn Biden Center, said on Thursday.

"The Trump administration should let Ukraine deploy its new anti-tank weapons to the front lines, rather than insisting they be warehoused under lock and key in western Ukraine. What's the point then?" the expert tweeted.

At the same time, he added a link to the article published on The Atlantic Magazine about the deliveries of American Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.
