Update on Russia’s shelling of Lyman: Seven killed, two in critical condition

Seven civilians have been killed and 13 injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region’s Lyman, according to the updated information. Two people are now in critical condition.

The relevant statement was made by Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Following the attack, seven civilians, aged from 52 to 71, were killed. Thirteen people – seven women and six men – received shrapnel injuries. All those injured were taken to hospital, two of them in critical condition,” the report states.

Russian projectiles targeted local residents who were on the street and near market stalls. Medics, prosecutors and police officers continue working at the scene.

The total number of victims is yet to be checked.

A reminder that earlier eight people were reported killed and five injured as Russians fired cluster munitions from the Smerch multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) at the Donetsk region’s Lyman.
