Zelensky visits injured defenders in Zaporizhzhia hospital

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has visited a military hospital in Zaporizhzhia where wounded Ukrainian soldiers are undergoing treatment.

That's according to the press service of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.

The president talked to the servicemen and presented them with state awards.

"Thank you for your service. I wish you a speedy recovery and all the best," Zelensky said.

The head of state also observed the work of the medical institution, inspected the ER department and surgical department and met with medics working in the hospital.

"You are the ones who save lives. I want to thank you on behalf of all of us, on behalf of myself personally, for your very important and powerful work," he said.

Zelensky said that doctors return soldiers to the ranks, but, most importantly, return them to life, to family and friends.

"All these days, months, we are moving towards victory together with you. You are also our heroes. And I wish you this victory," he said.

Zelensky presented state awards to the medical workers.
