Ukrainian champion Usyk contributes to restoration of museum in Lviv damaged by war

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has joined the effort to rebuild the Roman Shukhevych Museum in Lviv, which was destroyed in a Russian missile strike in January 2024.

Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“The champion donated his boxing gloves for a charity auction and contributed UAH 100,000. I thank Oleksandr and his team for their support,” Sadovyi wrote.

In a video message, Usyk called on Ukrainians to join the fundraising campaign for the museum’s restoration.

“Friends, join the fundraising effort to restore the Roman Shukhevych Museum. We honor the past so that our future may be bright. Glory to God for everything and glory to Ukraine,” the boxer said.

As reported, the Roman Shukhevych Museum, destroyed by Russian shelling, will be twice as large after reconstruction and feature new exhibition halls and a modern shelter.
