Grant competitions launched in Ukraine to support youth initiatives

The Ukrainian Youth Fund is launching new state grant competitions aimed at supporting youth initiatives and organizations involved in youth work.

The State Grant Competitions–2026 were announced by the Ukrainian Youth Fund with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Ukrinform.

The competitions will cover the following areas: expanding youth participation in public life and strengthening social cohesion; developing resilience, accessibility, safe environments, and the psycho-emotional well-being of young people; and promoting self-realization and the economic empowerment of youth in 2026.

“The team of the Ukrainian Youth Fund visited 141 territorial communities, where we taught young people how to apply for grants, as more than 60% of young people have no such experience. We also responded to the requests of young people themselves regarding what kind of project support they would like to receive from the Ukrainian Youth Fund. Together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we are providing new tools that will allow young people, regardless of where they are in Ukraine, to implement their initiatives,” said Mykola Kobysia, Director of the Ukrainian Youth Fund.

It is noted that grant competitions are a key instrument of state support for youth and play an important role in fostering civic engagement, social cohesion, and societal resilience as a component of Ukraine’s national security.

“This year, more than UAH 45 million has been allocated in the state budget to support youth initiatives through grants. This means that the state will finance very concrete ideas and solutions in youth policy. Funding is also envisaged to support and strengthen youth work in communities. In other words, any community that wants to see strong and sustainable youth work can submit applications and receive funding from the Ukrainian Youth Fund,” said Uliana Tokarieva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
