SSU confirms conducting searches of relatives of National Anti-Corruption Bureau detective

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting searches of several individuals, including relatives of a National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) detective, as part of previously opened criminal proceedings concerning illegal enrichment and the legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

This was reported to Ukrinform by the SSU press service.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the SSU is conducting searches as part of one of the previously opened criminal proceedings concerning illegal enrichment and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means. Investigative and operational measures are being carried out against several individuals, including relatives of a NABU official," the press service said, adding that all measures are being carried out in strict compliance with Ukrainian law.

As reported by Ukrinform, NABU announced that the SSU had conducted searches at the homes of relatives of a detective from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau who had been investigating several high-profile cases, including abuse in the energy sector (Rotterdam+) and at railway companies.
