Despite official statements to the contrary, the Russian command continues to replenish its units with conscripted personnel from Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories.

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.

According to him, one of the Russian airborne units recently received new reinforcements, about 50 people, mainly residents of the occupied Luhansk region.

“Despite assurances from Russia's top military and political leadership that residents of the temporarily occupied territories would not be recruited into the Russian army, they are now conscripting men and sending them to war with Ukraine, in particular to the southern directions, to the Kherson region,” Voloshyn said.
