Ukraine’s culture minister, Denmark’s ambassador discuss exhibitions, artifacts, heritage

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy discussed the strengthening of Ukrainian-Danish relations in the field of culture.

“We have just held a zoom meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen. We had a positive and interesting conversation about strengthening Ukrainian-Danish relations in the field of culture. In particular, we discussed opportunities for cooperation, such as the organization of Ukrainian exhibitions in Denmark and the organization of Danish exhibitions in our country. Currently, a historical exhibition entitled ‘Rus – the Vikings in the East’ is being prepared at the Moesgaard Museum. I wish a successful implementation of the exhibition project by the National Museum of the History of Ukraine and the Moesgaard Museum," Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko posted on Facebook on May 25.

The parties also touched upon the temporary presentation of cultural artifacts related to the history of Ukraine for the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence. According to him, Ukraine will receive the original Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk from Sweden, so the Ministry is waiting for possible proposals from the Danish side.

The officials also discussed issues of establishing cooperation with Danish researchers to study the heritage.

"I thank Ole Egberg Mikkelsen for his initiative and I hope that the next joint meeting will be held offline," Tkachenko added.

As reported, Sweden will give Ukraine the original Latin-language version of the 1710 Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk for the temporary exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
