Kyiv reports 1,417 new coronavirus cases

Kyiv has recorded 1,417 new coronavirus cases in the past day, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"Unfortunately, the situation with the number of cases in our city is worsening. The number of coronavirus patients and hospitalized patients in Kyiv is also increasing. Over the past day, 1,417 patients have been recorded in the city, 45 people have died - 25 women and 20 men," he said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Klitschko, 3,701 lethal cases from the virus have been recorded in the capital since the start of the pandemic. A total number of confirmed cases in Kyiv have reached 170,517.

Among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 819 women aged 18-91 years; 32 girls aged between eight months and 17 years; 528 men aged 18-95 years; 38 boys aged between eight months and 17 years old. Forty-five health workers are among new COVID-19 patients.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine recorded 15,415 new coronavirus over the course of April 6.
