USAID launches two projects worth $120 mln in eastern Ukraine

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched two projects worth about USD 120 million in the field of economic development and self-government in eastern Ukraine.

USAID Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator Margot Ellis said this at a meeting with the mayor of Mariupol on Tuesday, the press service of Mariupol City Council reported.

“We launched two projects worth about USD 120 million in eastern Ukraine. In the course of their implementation, Mariupol will also receive its benefits. The programs work in the field of economic development and self-government," Ellis said.

In turn, Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko thanked the USAID representatives for the fruitful cooperation and noted that the effective management of the city budget became one of the factors for the successful development of the city. This was confirmed by international partners. Thus, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) highly appreciated the budgeting process in Mariupol.
