Kyiv court arrests chairman of Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manher 

The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv arrested chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manher until March 3. The judge ruled that Manher could be bailed for UAH 2.497 million (about USD 89,000).

"The court arrested Vladyslav Manher until March 3. The judge ruled that he could be bailed for UAH 2.497 million. The prosecution asked in its motion to remand Manher in custody without the right to be bailed," the Insider media outlet reports.

Judge Oleksandr Kipcharsky read out the ruling on the fourth day of court hearings.

As reported, member of the Kherson City Council, activist Kateryna Handziuk became the victim of an acid attack on July 31, 2018. She suffered chemical burns and partially lost sight. Handziuk underwent over ten operations and died at hospital on November 4. The woman was 33 years old.

On February 11, 2019, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko announced that Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manher had been notified of suspicion in organizing the murder of activist Kateryna Handziuk.
