Kvitashvili: Polio vaccine already delivered to regions

Immunization of children against polio will begin next week with the using vaccine from the cargo that entered Ukraine two weeks ago and which is of good quality.

Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili told lawmakers on Friday at an hour of questions to the government, Ukrinform reports.

"The second batch of vaccine that was delivered just two weeks ago totals 2 million doses which have already been supplied to the regions. There are absolutely no problems with this cargo. The vaccine is available in the regions and starting from next week we will start a vaccination campaign, " Kvitashvili said.

He noted that the cargo with polio vaccine, the quality of which is allegedly doubtful over failure to store it properly, will be checked additionally.

"The polio vaccine shipment, which was delivered on May, amounts to 1.2 million doses, regarding which, I think, there were completely unreasonable questions, it’s now stored in warehouses until they pass a full quality check," said the minister.
