Zelensky discusses areas of cooperation between Ukraine and Chile with President Kast Rist

President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with Chilean President José Antonio Kast Rist on areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Zelensky stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that this was the first conversation between the President of Ukraine and the President of Chile, during which Zelensky congratulated him on taking office.

"We discussed in detail all possible areas for deepening bilateral cooperation between our countries. Ukraine already has 10-year security agreements with three countries in the Middle East, and we are ready for a similar partnership with Chile. We also spoke about cooperation in metallurgy, agriculture, and mineral exploration. We agreed that our teams will discuss the next steps," the statement said.

During the meeting, Zelensky thanked Kast Rist for supporting Ukraine and joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

He also expressed hope that Chile would join the May summit dedicated to Ukrainian children.

As reported, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has held a number of meetings in Latin America and is preparing to intensify the work of Ukrainian diplomatic missions in the region.
