Ukraine proposes special security partnership agreement to the Netherlands
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine and the Netherlands had signed bilateral documents concerning the first joint weapons production in the Netherlands, as well as a Drone Deal agreement.
The Ukrainian President made this statement in Middelburg during his visit to the Netherlands, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Today, Ukraine proposed to the Netherlands a format for a special agreement on security partnership – our Drone Deal. And this is not only about drones as such, but also about the comprehensive development of all air defense capabilities – protection against missiles and drones, the development of electronic warfare, and our joint weapons production. We tasked our teams with working out all the details, and we signed documents to begin this work – both on the Drone Deal and on the first joint production specifically with the Netherlands,” he said.
Responding to a question from Ukrinform, Zelensky noted that the signed documents serve as a framework for further cooperation. According to him, once the teams of both countries finalize the details, new bilateral documents will follow.
As reported, Zelensky is currently on a visit to the Netherlands. In particular, the President took part in the ceremony of the International Four Freedoms Award, whose laureates this year include President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine.
Earlier, the President also stated that Italy had shown interest in Ukraine’s experience in countering drones.
