Zelensky announces upcoming news regarding PURL program following conversation with Rutte

The President said that after his discussion with Rutte, there would be updates on the PURL program, which allows Ukraine to purchase missiles for Patriot air defense system systems from the United States.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky stated this on Telegram.

"We spoke with Mark Rutte about protection of our skies, the PURL initiative that enables us to receive missiles for Patriot systems, as well as the key security challenges currently facing everyone in the world. It is important that we all coordinate and strengthen one another," Zelensky said.

He emphasized that strengthening air defense remains a top priority.

"We are preparing updates on the PURL initiative," the President added.

As reported, PURL is a joint program of the United States and NATO, launched in 2025 to accelerate the delivery of critical U.S.-made weapons and equipment to Ukraine. Under the program, partner countries finance purchases based on Ukraine’s priority needs list, coordinating contributions through a special NATO fund. This mechanism allows for faster access to essential systems, such as missiles for Patriot and HIMARS, directly from U.S. stockpiles, thereby strengthening Ukraine’s defense.
