Magyar receives first congratulations on election victory from European leaders
The first congratulations on the election victory in Hungary for the Tisza party have been sent by Ursula von der Leyen, Emmanuel Macron, and Friedrich Merz.
The party of Péter Magyar, Tisza, is being congratulated on its election success by European leaders, Ukrinform reports.
“Europe’s heart is beating stronger in Hungary tonight,” wrote European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on X.
“I just spoke with Péter Magyar to congratulate him on his victory in Hungary! France welcomes the victory of democratic participation, the Hungarian people's commitment to the values of the European Union, and Hungary's commitment to Europe,” said French President Emmanuel Macron in his post.
Macron called for moving forward toward a sovereign Europe, continental security, competitiveness, and democracy, and published a photo with the Tisza party leader.
“The Hungarian people have decided. My heartfelt congratulations on your electoral success, dear Péter Magyar. I am looking forward to working with you. Let’s join forces for a strong, secure and, above all, united Europe,” wrote German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
As Ukrinform reported, according to the first election results, the opposition Tisza party is ahead of Orbán’s party.
