Sybiha: Russian disinformation is Moscow’s acknowledgment of Ukraine’s success in Gulf states
Ukraine views Russian disinformation as a sign that Moscow recognizes the strengthening of Ukraine’s position in the Gulf states and the failure of its own attempts to undermine it.
According to Ukrinform, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reported this on the social network X.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy noted that Moscow “is extremely upset with Ukraine’s rapid strengthening of ties with the Gulf countries in the wake of Iranian air terror,” as they understand that Ukraine’s unique experience has radically changed its role in the region.
“Thus, they turned to propaganda to try to undermine Ukraine’s contribution. They spread fakes about Ukrainian experts being hit or Ukraine not fulfilling its obligations, and so on. We expect more of such nonsense in the coming weeks,” Sybiha noted.
He expressed his conviction that this propaganda will not succeed, as partners in the Gulf are well aware of Ukraine's support for the development of modern, high-tech, and cost-effective defense systems.
“President Zelensky’s visit has laid a solid foundation for a multi-year mutually beneficial cooperation. We take this Russian disinformation campaign as proof that Moscow admits Ukraine’s success and its own failure,” he emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Ukrainian diplomatic team is actively working to coordinate with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf interested in Ukraine’s experience in defending against modern drones.
