China calls for end to hostilities in Middle East
China is urging all parties to the conflict in the Middle East to cease military actions and prevent further escalation.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated this at a briefing, Ukrinform’s correspondent reports.
"The current regional situation is complex and delicate. China calls on all parties to immediately stop military operations, prevent further expansion of the conflict, and avoid the increased impact of regional instability on global economic development," Mao said.
According to her, China is deeply concerned about the consequences of the conflict for countries neighboring Iran, supports them in strengthening communication and coordination based on good-neighborliness and friendship, and believes that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the Gulf states must be fully respected.
"China is ready to work with the international community to ensure regional security, actively promote peace and conflict prevention, and support efforts to resolve issues through dialogue and negotiations," she emphasized.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on February 28, the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on facilities of the Iranian regime. Following this, Iran attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan.
