Former U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo arrives in Kyiv

Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met with former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Kyiv to discuss the next steps in Ukrainian-American cooperation, including strengthening defense support, maintaining sanctions pressure, and establishing reliable security guarantees.

According to Ukrinform, Stefanchuk reported this on Facebook.

Stefanchuk noted that Pompeo’s visit sends an important signal of continued attention and support for Ukraine.

“Bipartisan support from the United States remains critically important for our country and the security of the entire Transatlantic space,” he emphasized.

Stefanchuk also briefed Pompeo on the current security situation, highlighting that Russia continues to attack civilian infrastructure with drones and missiles, demonstrating its unwillingness to achieve peace.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) also arrived in Kyiv.
