Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha invited U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to visit Ukraine at a convenient time, and the invitation was accepted.

Sybiha reported this on Facebook following the third day of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly, Ukrinform reports.

The foreign minister noted that three landmark events took place that day: President Volodymyr Zelensky's address during the general debate of the UNGA's 80th session; the 5th International Crimea Platform Summit; and the restoration of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria.

He also stressed that he concluded the day with an important transatlantic meeting of all NATO allies and Ukraine at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"I expressed gratitude for the principled stance of U.S. President Donald Trump. We discussed further steps to strengthen Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. After the meeting, I had an opportunity to speak with Marco in person about implementing the agreements reached by our presidents. I invited my counterpart to visit Ukraine at a convenient time and I am grateful that this invitation was accepted," Sybiha wrote.
