Trump confirms he spoke with Xi about ending Russia’s war in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said he had a “very productive” conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, discussing a range of issues, including ending the Russian war in Ukraine.

The White House chief announced this on Friday on his Truth Social network, Ukrinform reports.

The US president wrote that he had just finished a very productive conversation with President Xi of China, during which they made progress on many important issues, including trade, fentanyl, the need to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the approval of the TikTok deal.

In addition, he noted that he had agreed with Xi to meet at the APEC summit in South Korea and to visit China early next year. Trump also said that Xi Jinping had agreed to visit the United States “at an appropriate time.” Trump concluded that the conversation had been very successful, adding that they would speak on the phone again, expressing gratitude for the agreement on TikTok, and looking forward to meeting at the APEC summit.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said that European pressure on China in the form of economic and other restrictions could help end the war in Ukraine.
