Ukrainian, Brazilian officials discuss preparations for meeting on Ukrainian Peace Formula

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Chief Advisor to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim in a phone call discussed preparations for the next meeting on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

That's according to the Ukrainian president's press service, Ukrinform reports.

Yermak informed Amorim of Russia's recent massive missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine that caused damage to civilian infrastructure and citizens. Amorim expressed condolences over the deaths and injuries of people.

The two also discussed preparations for the next meeting of national security advisors and political advisors to the heads of state on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, which is to be held in Davos.

"The goal is to end the war and achieve peace. We have discussions on how to achieve this goal, but Brazil is a country that respects international law and the UN Charter. It is important to continue the dialogue to find a solution," Yermak said.

Switzerland will host a meeting of advisors to the heads of state to discuss the Ukrainian Peace Formula on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in mid-January.

On October 28-29, 2023, Malta hosted the third summit at the level of foreign policy and national security advisors regarding the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

Late on January 7 and early on January 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones, cruise, ballistic, air and anti-aircraft guided missiles.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted eight Shaheds and 18 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that four people had been killed and 45 injured in the attack.
