Shmyhal meets with Sunak in London

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to the Ukrainian PM’s Telegram channel.

"I thanked him for organizing the event, which aims to consolidate the efforts of partners for the reconstruction of our state and to find effective mechanisms for continued financial support for Ukraine," Shmyhal said.

The prime ministers discussed the involvement of private business to support Ukraine’s economy. Shmyhal thanked Great Britain for the major financial assistance package and for launching the Business Compact initiative, which has already been joined by more than 400 world leading companies.

“We appreciate Great Britain's support in all areas and rely on further leadership in uniting the international coalition in support of Ukraine," Shmyhal stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, the United Kingdom will provide a major financial support package for Ukraine, including $3 billion of additional guarantees to unlock World Bank lending.
