Parliament appoints Kamyshin as Minister for Strategic Industries

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has appointed Oleksandr Kamyshin as Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

"Former Ukrzaliznytsia Chief Oleksandr Kamyshin became new Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine. There were 312 [votes] in favour," MP Oleksandr Honcharenko (the European Solidarity faction) wrote on Telegram.

Kamyshin was manager at Dragon Capital and SCM, founder of Latifundist Media, Grano Group, AgTech Farm and Fortior Capital.

In 2021, he served as adviser to Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov. From August to March, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. In April 2022, he became Chairman of the Board on a permanent basis.

On February 27, 2023, he resigned from the position of Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia and announced plans to head the European integration office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe.

On March 3, he was appointed as non-staff advisor to the President of Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 20, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Pavlo Riabikin as Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, who headed the ministry from November 4, 2021.
