Grain deal would have been impossible without HIMARS - Lithuania’s top diplomat

In order to end the war quicker, it is necessary to pace up supplies of the necessary weapons to Ukraine, since even an agreement on the unblocking of Ukrainian ports would be impossible without HIMARS.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, on Twitter, as seen by Ukrinform.

"The agreement to unblock Odesa would have been impossible without HIMARS. It's now very clear that the war will end earlier if we arm Ukraine faster," the minister tweeted.

As reported by Ukrinform, an agreement was signed in Istanbul on July 22 following a four-way meeting between Ukraine, Turkey, the United Nations, and Russia, to unblock grain and other food exports from the ports of Ukraine.

Two mirror agreements were signed in tripartite format. The deal was signed by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar.

The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed the agreement in the same format on behalf of Russia.
