Office of the President expects sixth sanctions package to be most painful to Russia

The Office of the President of Ukraine expects the sixth sanctions package, which the European Union is planning to endorse, to be the most painful to Russia.

The relevant statement was made by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are standing for a full energy embargo, and all our proposals have been communicated to our partners… We have a great hope that the sixth sanctions package will be the most powerful and the most painful to the Russian side,” Sybiha told.

A reminder that the sixth sanctions package against Russia is under development in Brussels. This package is expected to contain provisions related to the import of energy resources from Russia.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated earlier that the EU’s sixth sanctions package might impose an embargo on Russian oil.
