Zelensky: Asian and African countries changing their attitude to Russia in Ukraine’s favor

Asian and African countries have historically been close to Russia but now they start to change their attitude towards Russia in Ukraine’s favor.

"I really want Asian countries to change their attitude towards Ukraine as well. Do I feel that they have changed their attitude? I think nations have changed definitely. The peoples of these countries know us well. I feel that the leaders of these countries are nearing this," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference on April 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Zelensky pointed to the historical closeness of Asia and Africa to the Soviet Union and Russia as its successor and the largest country in the former Soviet Union.

"Ukraine has shattered these relations. We already see the attitude of the leaders. They lean towards us. This is a great merit of our state, but also of the leaders because they hear and listen. It’s a difficult task, very difficult task," the Head of State stressed.

According to him, the leaders of these countries already see that it is impossible to allow one or another state to violate the world order.

"Look at the challenge that both Asia and African countries face due to blockade of our grain supplies," Zelensky said.

The President also predicted soaring prices, shortages, and famines in some countries and blamed Russia for that.
