NSDC secretary grateful to international partners for promoting idea of Biden-Putin summit

Ukraine is grateful to all participants in the negotiation process who are trying to resolve the escalation around Ukraine through political and diplomatic means.

This was stated during a briefing at the national forum "Safe and prosperous communities of the future" by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, who commented on a possible summit of the presidents of Russia and the United States next week.

"As far as these processes are concerned today (talks between U.S. and Russian Presidents Joseph Biden and Vladimir Putin - ed.), we welcome all issues to be resolved diplomatically. We already thank God that they started and moved out of the dead end. This wasn’t the case before so we thank all the participants taking part in this for promoting these negotiations," said Danilov.

The NSDC secretary also stressed that unprecedented information and cyberattacks are currently targeting Ukraine. So everyone needs to stay calm and unwavering, he added.

"The main thing is that the military and society are ready for any challenge," Danilov concluded.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, White House Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin could meet soon if Russia doesn’t invade Ukraine.

Earlier, Biden convened the United States National Security Council to discuss the situation around Ukraine.
