Culture, protection of national minorities: Shmyhal names priorities in relations with Slovakia

Cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia in the field of culture and protection of the rights of national minorities has always been a priority of bilateral relations between the countries.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated this during his working trip to Zakarpattia region, where he together with Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger visited specialized secondary school No.4 with in-depth study of the Slovak language, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“We are constantly working to improve the system of general secondary education in terms of learning foreign languages. This can be seen in the example of a school in Uzhhorod with in-depth study of the Slovak language,” Shmyhal said.

According to the Ukrainian prime minister, it is also a key task for Ukraine to keep a network of Ukrainian language schools in Slovakia and support for Ukrainian education by the Slovak state.

As reported, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is on a working trip to Zakarpattia region on November 12. Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger also arrived in the region.
