Zelensky, Michel discuss preparations for Ukraine-EU summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European Council President Charles Michel have discussed the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the context of preparations for the 23rd Ukraine-EU summit, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian President's Office.

"During their meeting, the leaders discussed the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the context of preparations for the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit to be held in Kyiv on October 12, 2021," the report said.

Zelensky thanked the Council of the European Union for approving the draft Common Aviation Area Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and expressed hope that the Agreement would be signed and applied in the near future.

Both parties paid special attention to the Associated Trio initiative launched by Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Zelensky thanked Michel for his readiness to help realize the potential of cooperation between the EU and the countries that have concluded association agreements.

They also agreed on a schedule of further contacts this year.

The meeting between Zelensky and Michel took place as part of the Ukrainian president's working visit to Lithuania on July 6-7.
