Italian government approves decree on further aid to Ukraine – media
The Italian government has approved a decree on further assistance to Ukraine.
That is according to ANSA, Ukrinform reports.
"The Council of Ministers has approved a decree extending aid to Ukraine," the report said.
The decision became known at the end of the cabinet meeting.
The decree, marking the 11th extension of Italy's aid to Ukraine, was approved despite opposition from the right-wing League party, which is against further military assistance to Kyiv.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that Italy would support Ukraine for as long as necessary.
Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced additional economic assistance for Ukraine, stressing that under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelensky, conditions have been created to achieve a just and lasting peace, but this requires readiness on the part of the Russian Federation.
