The United States will remain steadfast in its support for Ukraine, so that it is secure within its internationally recognized borders, including Donbas and Crimea, according to Chargé d'Affaires Kristina A. Kvien.

Her message on the occasion of the inauguration of new U.S. President Joe Biden on January 20 has been published by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.

"As the President-elect and his administration work to shape the domestic and foreign policy of the United States in the coming months, let me reassure you of one thing: The United States will remain steadfast in its support for a prosperous, democratic, and free Ukraine, secure within its internationally recognized borders including the Donbas and Crimea, and resilient against Russian aggression," Kvien said.

She also said that inauguration events in Washington this year look very different - "you will not see the crowds on our National Mall, nor the traditional Presidential parade." This decision, according to Kvien, was made "in order to put public health before pomp and circumstance."

Joe Biden took the oath of office as the 46th President of the United States on January 20.
