Ukraine to cooperate actively with African countries in 2021

Ukraine intends to strengthen its presence on the African continent next year.

"The President instructed us to submit for his consideration a strategic document on relations with African countries, and this order will be fulfilled. In 2021, we will actively work with the African continent," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said at an online briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that thorough preparation for a more active entry of Ukrainian diplomacy and business into the African continent has been carried out throughout the year and Ukraine’s capabilities and ambitions have been analyzed and assessed.

"It is a very difficult region, but we have elaborated a careful, balanced, but hopefully effective policy that will strengthen our position in this region," Kuleba said.

The minister hopes that increasing the presence in Africa will benefit Ukrainian business, the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian citizens.
