PM Shmyhal, representatives of Crimean Tatars discuss strategy for de-occupation

MPs of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev and Rustem Umerov at a meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzheppar discussed the development of a strategy for the de-occupation of temporarily occupied territories.

Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and Autonomous Republic of Crimea, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations, Deputy Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the European Parliament, wrote about this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

During the meeting, they also discussed the need to include in the state budget for 2021 the program "Resettlement and accommodation of deported Crimean Tatars and persons of other nationalities, who were deported from Ukraine", which, according to Rustem Umerov, was cut in the current draft budget.

In addition, the interlocutors discussed the development of a draft law on granting the status of a person deprived of personal liberty because of armed aggression against Ukraine and obtaining appropriate social protection, maintaining funding for the "Affordable Housing" program.

“After all, preferential lending is extremely important for IDPs and ATO/JFO participants," Umerov wrote.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed the government's implementation of the president’s decree on granting state status to certain religious holidays, including Ramadan Bayram and Kurban Bayram, the implementation of a project to build 1,000 apartments and the Cathedral Mosque.

As reported, the Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs, the National Security and Defense Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formed a working group to develop a strategy for the de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories.
