Ukraine, EU agree to jointly assess Association Agreement achievements next year

Ukraine and the European Union have agreed to start a joint assessment of the Association Agreement achievements next year.

"One of the key results of the Summit is the agreement to start a joint assessment of the Association Agreement achievements in 2021. It will be an important driving force for its [Agreement’s] next renewal," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference within the framework of the 22nd EU-Ukraine Summit on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He also noted that the deepening of sectoral integration had been "substantively discussed" at the Summit.

"Our discussions focused on the integration into the EU’s Digital Single Market, energy markets of Ukraine and the European Union, cooperation in the implementation of the European Green Deal," Zelensky explained.

He also assured that he had received a "positive signal" from the EU regarding "industrial visa-free regime." According to Zelensky, the activity of the assessment commission is currently accelerating.

The President reminded that the relevant EU expert mission had recently started to work to assess Ukraine's readiness for concluding the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products.
