New Ukrainian ambassador begins diplomatic mission in Croatia

Newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Croatia Vasyl Kyrylych has presented copies of credentials at the Croatian Foreign Ministry.

Kyrylych wrote this on his Twitter account.

"The first day of the mission in Croatia is the presentation of copies of credentials at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia," the diplomat wrote.

He added that Croatia is a strong partner of Ukraine because no one in recent history knows more deeply than Croatia and Ukraine the cost of independence, which is measured by the loss of thousands of human lives.

The new ambassador arrived in Croatia on January 24. Handing over copies of credentials almost immediately after arrival is a sign of a high level of relations between the two countries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Kyrylych as Ukraine's ambassador to Croatia on December 24, 2019.

Prior to that, Kyrylych headed the consular support office of the Consular Service Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
