Parliament dissolution: Zelensky hopes Constitutional Court will make fair decision

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects the Constitutional Court to make a fair decision in the case on the constitutionality of a presidential decree on the dissolution of the Verkovna Rada.

He said this in his speech at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Society is following this matter very carefully. You are definitely aware of it and, I think, you will make a fair decision, of which we will not be ashamed before our people, before our children, before all Ukrainians," Zelensky said.

At the same time, he said that the decree on the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada fully corresponds to the spirit and the letter of the law.

"Our legal position is undeniable and flawless," the head of state said.

On Tuesday, at 10:00, the Grand Chamber of the Constitutional Court started considering the case on the compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine of the presidential decree "On the early termination of the powers of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation and the calling of early elections."

The case will be heard in the form of oral proceedings.
