U.S. Embassy again calls on Russia to respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity

On the Day of Unity, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine once again called on Russia to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including Crimea.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch said this in a statement on the occasion of Ukraine’s Day of Unity.

"On the 100th Ukrainian Unity Day, we once again call on Russia to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, which includes Crimea, extending to its territorial waters," the ambassador posted on Twitter.

As reported, Ukraine marks the Day of Unity on January 22, the day when the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic (WUPR) signed a Unification Act in 1919.
