‘Elections’ in ORDLO run counter to Minsk agreements – Sajdik

Holding of the so-called elections on the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions scheduled for November 11 runs counter to the Minsk agreements.

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), Ambassador Martin Sajdik said this following a meeting of the TCG in Minsk, Interfax.by reported.

"In my opinion, the so-called elections in ORDLO run contrary to the spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements," the ambassador said.

Earlier, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker said that the "elections" announced by the so-called "Luhansk People's Republic" and "Donetsk People's Republic" are illegitimate and breach the logic of the Minsk agreements.

As reported, the so-called elections in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions will be held on November 11.
