Russian rapper Basta declared persona non grata in Ukraine

Famous Russian rapper Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) has been declared persona non grata in Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) banned him from entering Ukraine for a period of three years.

The SBU said this to Apostrophe online portal.

"According to Article 13 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons", the Security Service of Ukraine in the interests of ensuring the state security decided to prohibit the entry into Ukraine to the above mentioned citizen for a period of three years," the document reads.

As reported, despite visiting the occupied Crimea, the rapper was able to give a concert in Kyiv on June 17. The SBU did not prohibit his concert. The next concert of Basta in the capital was scheduled for December 1, 2017.
