Kasko says he is forced to leave Ukraine

Former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Kasko has said that actions against him are carried out in order to force him to leave the country.

“I have information that all these actions have been carried out not only for the first month to force me to leave the country. I have refused from leaving the country, and I’m ready to defend my rights in the courts and any law enforcement agencies,” Kasko said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According Kasko, he has all the reasons to believe that he has been under surveillance: "On February 16, I renewed the license to practice law and I’m a lawyer, and the Prosecutor General’s Office and investigators knew this. However, taking into account yesterday's event, I was under surveillance - despite the fact that there was no procedural status in criminal proceedings, what is a gross violation of the constitutional rights of citizens and the rights of a lawyer,” Kasko said.
