EU to continue procedure on visa-free regime for Ukrainians – resolution

The European Parliament has called on the leading institutions of the European Union to continue the legislative procedure of Ukraine’s inclusion on a list of states for the citizens of which visa requirements are canceled.

This is stated in a resolution adopted on Thursday by the European Parliament regarding agreements on association, including deep and comprehensive free trade zones with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, an own Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The European Parliament positively assesses the efforts by the Ukrainian leadership in the fulfilment of an action plan on visa liberalization and welcomes the publishing of a positive final report on the progress of this plan implementation,” reads a resolution.

MPs expressed hope that the Ukrainian leadership in the first quarter of 2016 will fulfill all the obligations on the fight against corruption, and the European Council and the member states will continue the procedure of granting visa-free regime to Ukraine and Georgia.
