EU still not launched process on visa cancellation for Ukraine

The European Commission has not yet submitted proposals to the European Council and the European Parliament to begin the legislation process on cancelling a visa regime for short-term trips of Ukrainian citizens.

 Maja Kocijancic, the European Commission  Spokesperson, told an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.

“Still there is no news. The European Commission is planning to submit proposals in the beginning of 2016, but this has not taken place yet,” Kocijancic said.

As earlier reported, on December 18, 2015, the European Commission positively assessed Ukraine’s full implementation of an on a visa liberalization action plan.
