Russia creates new dividing lines in Europe – Poroshenko}

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko states that Russia is doing everything possible to split Europe.

The President said this while delivering the speech at the Leiden University in the Netherlands on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Many people think that once things settle down in Ukraine, the situation in Europe will become the same as before. However, it looks desirable only, taking into account the attitude of Russia. The aggression of Russia in Crimea and Donbas has not only delivered a blow at trust and confidence in Europe, it has created new dividing lines in Europe," the Head of State stressed.

He drew attention to the fact that the basic European values such as unity, inviolability of borders, and the rule of values are not perceived by Russia absolutely.

"We are not talking about the misunderstandings between Russia and the West on the future of Europe. Russia and the West just have quite different plans. The West wants to create the circle of trust while Russia wants to create the zone of influence," Poroshenko said.
