Ukrainian airlines banned from flying over Sinai Peninsula
The State Aviation Service of Ukraine has banned the Ukrainian air carriers from flying over the Sinai Peninsula.
This is stated in the telegram of the State Aviation Service on planning and operating the flights over the Sinai Peninsula.
"It is forbidden to use the PASOS waypoint when planning the flights. It is recommended to use two other Cairo FIR entry points – LAKTO and RASDA – which are located to the west of PASOS and enable transit outside of the peninsula,” reads the statement.
Earlier, the largest Ukrainian airline, MAU, announced that its flight routes avoided airspace over the Sinai Peninsula.
As a reminder, Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands have already refused from flying over the Sinai.
