Power supply restoration begins in Moldova after major outage

Moldova's Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, said that electricity supply is being gradually restored in the country following a large-scale emergency blackout.

According to Ukrinform, NewsMaker stated this in an article.

"In the south of the country, all 110 kV power transmission lines have been reconnected, the operation of 110 kV substations and 10 kV distribution lines has been restored. In Chisinau, electricity supply has been partially restored for consumers. In the northern and northwestern districts of Moldova, the operation of all 110 kV lines has also been fully restored," Junghietu reported on social media.

Moldovan authorities are urging citizens to use electricity rationally in the coming hours and to avoid excessive consumption.

As Ukrinform previously reported, an emergency outage occurred in Moldova's energy system on Saturday morning, January 31, amid disruptions in Ukraine's power grid.
