Bus carrying children overturns in Zakarpattia region, casualties reported

In the Zakarpattia region, due to icy conditions, a Mercedes Sprinter minibus carrying children from Kyiv on vacation suddenly veered off the road and overturned on its side.

This was reported on Facebook by the Zakarpattia Emergency Medical Center, according to Ukrinform.

“Today at 8:36 a.m., a call was received on the 103 hotline: between Perechyn and Zarichovo, a minibus with children was in a ditch. Among the victims were six children aged 8-14 and one woman. All were examined and received the necessary assistance,” the medics reported.

As noted, one boy with moderate injuries was hospitalized at the Mukachevo Regional Children's Hospital. Other victims of the accident were taken to medical facilities in Uzhhorod. According to preliminary data, there are no life-threatening injuries, and the condition of the victims is stable.

The emergency medical center warned drivers about the dangers on the roads: The snow has melted, water has formed on the asphalt, and ice is forming beneath. It is recommended to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance, and exercise extreme caution in mountainous areas.

As reported by Ukrinform, a woman was killed, and nine people were injured in a minibus accident in the Kirovohrad region.
