School bus accident in Dnipropetrovsk region: two dead, number of injured climbs to 10

The number of people injured in a school bus accident in the Dnipropetrovsk region has risen to 10, with two fatalities.

This was reported by the National Police, according to Ukrinform.

“The police are investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident, which killed two people and injured 10. Among the victims is a minor child,” the report said.

The police reminded that the accident occurred on December 11 at 7:45 a.m. on the highway between the city of Piatykhatky and the village of Saksahan in the Piatykhatky district. It has been preliminarily established that a 29-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a school bus traveling in the opposite direction.

"As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the Volkswagen car were killed at the scene. The driver and passengers of the school bus, including a 14-year-old girl, were injured," the police said.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules, resulting in the death of several people).

As reported, on the morning of Thursday, December 11, in the Kamianske district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a school bus collided with a Volkswagen Transporter. Two people were reported dead, and seven were injured in the accident.
