A Russian An-22 military transport aircraft crashed on Tuesday in Ivanovo region, Russia.
This was reported by the Russian service of Radio Liberty, according to Ukrinform.
Citing Russian media and emergency services, the outlet writes that seven people were on board. There is currently no information about fatalities or injuries.
According to several Telegram channels, the aircraft crashed in the Furmanovsky district. Later, the propaganda agency TASS, citing emergency services, stated that the aircraft fell in the area of the Uvod Reservoir north of Ivanovo, and its fragments were found on the water.
Some Telegram channels note that this An-22 was the last aircraft of its type remaining in service with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The An-22 Antei is the largest turboprop aircraft in the world, designed for transporting heavy and oversized weaponry. Only 69 such aircraft were produced in the USSR, and only a few remain in operation.
